Charlotte Casiraghi Misses the Mark on Vogue Paris’ September Issue (Forum Buzz)

“Fresh choice… ugly cover,” Riseup posted. Candlebougie agreed, “Lovely girl, not a good image choice.”

Loladonna thought the Vogue Paris cover paled in comparison to other September issues. She wrote, “Sorry but the September US Vogue blows this out of the water and I’m not even a fan of Kate Moss. Just because a socialite is pretty doesn’t mean she’s a good model. What a waste of a cover.”

Luxx was a bit more tolerant of the cover image. “I have absolutely no complaints about Charlotte getting the cover,” she wrote. “I mean really, it is not as though Carine [Roitfeld’s] Vogue Paris ever shied away from having Monaco’s royalty on its pages or covers. The picture is good, she’s stunning and honestly if it were a model it would probably just be another of [Emmanuelle] Alt’s favorites who we’ve seen on the cover about ten times before.”

This is just the latest stop on the bumpy road that Emmanuelle Alt has been traveling since taking over the role of Editor-in-Chief this year. Last month’s Lara Stone cover was a high point and this month seems to be dropping down to a a lull, which is too bad since the September issue is so significant for fashion magazines.
