Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2011

With a total of 59 looks, Oscar de la Renta presented a rich Pre-Fall 2011 collection that includes chic daywear and grand ballroom gowns. The designer presented an array of hues, with a palette that spanned the color spectrum from neutrals and pastels, to popping pinks and bright greens.

It was hard not to think of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s upcoming nuptials when looking at the trio of gowns that capped the collection – regal in silhouette, each is conservative and understated.  The gowns were crafted out of pastel-shaded silk faille, and paired with either a matching cardigan, or a toreador jacket. Will any of the royal wedding guests show up in one of these floor-sweeping dresses? It’s hard to imagine that they won’t.

As for the more approachable looks, de la Renta offered plenty for his clientele to choose from: jewel-toned sweaters, a knee length skirt with a hint of volume and a bow accent tied around the waist, tweed coats with coordinating separates, and a collection of cocktail dresses.

Aside from bows, lace, sheer details, feathers, fur trim, and embroidery were all prominent details in the season’s collection.
