Who could forget Halle Berry taking home the Oscar in 2002 in her gorgeous Elie Saab gown? Now, nearly a decade later, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Natalie Portman follow in her footsteps in one of the designer’s billowing gowns. Or, perhaps Angelina Jolie will opt for a strapless high-slit black Saab stunner, which is perfectly in line with her understatedly high-impact aesthetic. Either way, with the parade of gorgeous gowns that Elie Saab showed for his 2011 Spring Couture collection, I'd be surprised if several of his designs don’t end up on the red carpet in the coming weeks.

With layers of delicate tulle, lace, and chiffon topped off with flower and ribbon details, there was plenty of feminine frill in this sexy collection of eveningwear, making for balanced, approachable looks. There may have been nothing shocking or out of the ordinary for a Saab collection, but when it comes to delivering his usual line-up of princess-worthy gowns, the Lebanese designer more than delivered with his exquisite silhouettes and details. Further, the broad color palette Saab opted for this season will work to complement an array of skin tones and personal preferences.

Manolo Blahnik for J. Crew Fall 2012

Though we have to wait until fall for this collaboration which will reportedly retail for $550 and up on jcrew.com, pointy-toe pumps and cropped pants are destined to be my go-to look for spring.
