Acne Fall 2011 Runway Review

When it comes to great fits, effortless cuts, and contemporary closet investment staples with interesting twists, Acne creative director Jonny Johansson is the Swedish equivalent to Parisian designer Vanessa Bruno in his reign on top. The designer’s knack for creating interesting basics tied in well with his inspiration this season, which he said were the girls that work in his studio who make “fashion out of nothing.”

The Fall 2011 Acne line-up was brimming with classic Acne, which is to say slouchy sweaters, clean button downs, oversized tops and motorcycle jackets, loose fitting blazers, and wide pants, but each pieces featured a special little something that set it apart from your run-of-the-mill basic. From metallic sleeve accents or knee patches on overalls, to contrastingly colored collars and slouchy pants with different colored legs – the collection did a wonderful job at reflecting the “cool working girls” that inspired the designer.
