Moschino Fall 2011 Runway Review

Moschino is back! For a number of seasons now, Moschino collections have either seemed too high or too low on their signature quirk factor, but for Fall 2011 the level of fun was just right. Styled by none other than street photographer favorite and Vogue Nippon editor at large Anna Dello Russo, who was seated front row at the show and last season walked the runway, the models opening the show eschewed last season’s cowboy hats and strutted the runway with military-inspired top hats.  Fittingly, last season’s stripes were traded in for a slew of military and menswear inspired looks. Included in the lineup of menswear-inspired looks was a smocking dress worn by Coco Rocha, which was paired with a stuffed chicken hat, making for a nice contrast for some of the easier to pull-off looks like cumberbund topped loose pants that were shown in a variety of iterations.

Closing out the show were a few floral looks that, though brief, stole the show. After all, isn’t a black menswear inspired suit with contrasting rose floral lapels quintessential Moschino?
