Jason Wu Spring 2012 Runway Review

The beauty in Jason Wu collections is that they seem to stem off of each other. No matter the inspiration, this season it was graffiti artist KAWS with whom he designed the show’s standout print, Wu manages to maintain his impressive eye for shape and an air of uptown sophistication.

In spite of the collection’s downtown inspiration, the show was filled with pieces that fans such as the First Lady are sure to snap up come spring. Conservative design elements such as high collars and nipped in waists were paired with sheer fabrications and short-shorts making the models look like uptown women, off duty.

The final looks, and the below skirt which we can safely say will be a standout of this whole season, are set to be red carpet gems at next year’s awards shows. Fans of Wu stay tuned as he is definitely not losing steam.
