Kors embarked on a misguided safari to disappointing results.

Fashion month has just begun but I can already tell you that Michael Kors’ show will be one of the greatest disappointments. I have been a long ambassador of Kors as a designer who sticks to what his customer wants and almost always succeeds. Unfortunately, this season he followed a misguided train of inspiration resulting in a safari-themed collection that was as uninspired as it was surprising. Kors’ client base is filled with Upper East Side women that wear his comfortably chic, minimalist sportswear as staple day wear. It’s safe to say that they won’t be racing to pick up gladiator flats and tie-dyed trousers in spite of the garments impeccable cuts and flawless execution.
