Giorgio Armani Spring 2012 Runway Review

His shows might not tend to pack the quirky and fun-to-watch thematic looks of say Moschino, but Giorgio Armani never fails to capture with his strikingly sophisticated designs. This season, like many Armani-designed collections before it (notably the Spring 2011 gemstone-inspired Armani Prive lineup), Armani was inspired by the gleam of pearls. Fittingly, Spring 2012 was brimming with iridescent fabrics that reflected the light as they made their way down the runway and, in a nod to how precisely even the most minimalist day pieces were constructed, each piece – including the more sculptural and fitted ones – moved beautifully.
