From whimsical dolls to menacing ice queens, London's holiday windows don't disappoint.

In London's legendary department stores, teams of visual merchandisers plan all year for the annual holiday windows. This year they did not disappoint. From whimsical dolls to menacing ice queens, there's something in these displays for everyone.

It may not be a department store but the legendary hotel's partnership with Lanvin makes this holiday display a must see. "The concept of the Christmas Tree decoration is to create an installation that carries the spirit of Lanvin, an infusion of tradition and modernity at the same time," said Alber Elbaz on the display. Complete with a mini Alber on top, it's by far the most fashionable display of the season.

Beyond the traditional white Christmas theme, Selfridges has integrated cutting edge audio and visual technologies into their displays. In collaboration with Condiment Junkie, the London flagship's facade is transformed into a giant, functional music box.

Built to resemble an enchanted crystal forest, the heritage store's Swarovski-encrusted displays are a feast for the eyes. Departing from the usual fairy tale themes and fanciful tales, this year's dazzling (literally) story shows darker scenes taking place deep in a sparkling wood
