Meet Jay Strut: The Fashion Boy Blogger

When I first met Jay Strut, it was love at first sight. We worked a BHD event together and he brought 3 outfit changes for a 12 hour day, that was pretty much all I needed to know. I couldn’t get enough of him, and even contemplated how I would fit him into my pocket to take him everywhere I go. Look at him, wouldn't you be wondering the same thing?

As we know, there are a million bloggers out there, but when it comes specifically to male fashion bloggers, there are very few. I am proud to say that I am friends with THE coolest Toronto based, Canadian fashion scene staple: Jay Strut (yes, according to him, that’s his real name).  Running into Jay Strut, you can always expect to see him mixing his skinny pant androgynous style with high end designer must-haves from the likes of Balmain, Proenza Schouler, Alexander Wang, and Hermes (you will never catch him without his Collier De Chien bracelet) with cool downtown finds.

Jay is manic with his blogging, updating daily with fashion’s hottest news and his many outings from Toronto to New York and wherever else fashion takes him. During New York Fashion Week, he was spotted partying with fellow fashion elite and fellow male blogger BryanBoy at the Marc Jacobs S/S 2012 afterparty. He rubs shoulders with some of the coolest kids in fashion from the likes of Anna Dello Russo, Nicola Formichetti, Kate Lanphear, Jack and Lazaro from Proenza Schouler, and more but is always so humble and kind!

What I love the most about reading Jaystrut.com is feeling like I am having a personal conversation with Jay through his writing. It’s a very barrier-free and free spirited form of sharing his thoughts, likes, obsessions, and dislikes. You can read anything from his nights out on the town at a fashion event (including his very own Jay Strut slang) to his latest obsession with his new PS11 bag or even how he will likely trample you to get his hands on H&M’s next hot collaboration piece. Yes, he’s that guy! He’s got great style, a wicked sense of humour, and more personality than my bbm can handle!
