Peter Pilotto Fall 2012 Runway Review

This season, the pair was inspired by Asian subcultures and fetishized Japanese light trucks. In addition to their always-captivating prints, the designers showcased this through a variety of textures including fur, laminated wool, and embroidery. Neon, a major trend of seasons past, made its first major appearance of the week with bright highlighter yellows alongside cool aqua and lilac tones. While the fur bibs may have been a bit much, the designers’ other plays on texture were incredibly well received. We saw hints of a puffer-jacket revolution a few seasons ago in New York but the printed varieties shown at Pilotto were cut to perfection and looked nothing like the block colored utilitarian blobs that come to mind when you think puffer.
