Comme des Garcons Fall 2012 Runway Review

Particularly notable was a running floral motif that translated into head-to-toe prints (literally HEAD to TOE), and oversized cutouts that turned a dress and two tops (one considerably more cartoonish than the other) into veritable flowers. While there was certainly high theatrical and artistic value in each piece, it will likely be the nipped-at-the waist monochrome coats, the two dimensional sequin dresses, and the oversized floral print outerwear that will hold the most “real world” appeal. Nonetheless, it must be said that only Kawakubo could make oversized prints on felted wool look so fantastic.
