British Designers Collective: Bicester Village

Hosted by Alexa Chung

Alexa Chung, is currently the British Fashion Council’s young style ambassador, and as we are all aware, the reason behind the creation of the Mulberry Alexa bag. The lucky girl was also chosen to perform at Stella McCartney’s AW12 dinner party during London Fashion week, where she was hypnotized and levitated on stage by a magician. Therefore, she was also excellently chosen to host the launch of this year’s pop-up store at the Bicester village. She reportedly explained that she’s proud to support the initiative as it ‘opens up a whole new market to the participating designers that they might not otherwise have access to at this stage in their career.’

What Alexa Wore

To host the event, Alexa opted for a Bella Freud jumper reading Je t’aime Jane, with a floral Celine skirt, and completed the look with shoes by Nicholas Kirkwood. As a former model and almost fashion designer herself, she excitedly explained, “I’m looking forward to choosing some key pieces from their collections for myself.”

Established Collections

Value Retail, who owns Bicester village, explains that the boutique will also include an array of established womenswear and menswear collections as even established labels need to be continuously supported, especially in times of economic uncertainty. The pop-up is obviously only open for a limited amount of time, and closes on the 9 May.
