Isabel Marant Spring 2013 Runway Review

Past collections have been Navajo and cowgirl inspired and this season the designer turned her attention to Elvis, more specifically, photographs of the singer from his early days in Hawaii to his last days in Las Vegas. The resulting collection was a bit 70s (think flares), a bit boho via ornate prints (lots of paisleys), and very very summer. In fact, some of the strongest pieces were the season’s swimsuits and sarongs, which were shown alongside casual peasant tops, embellished jeans, floral shorts, leather dresses, and knotted button-downs.
