Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture Spring 2013: A Little Parisian, a Little Moroccan, a Little All Over the Place

A little Parisian, a little Moroccan, a little Indian, a little Spanish and a whole lot of drama made for an engaging couture showing from Jean Paul Gaultier. True to his tongue in cheek style, Gaultier ended his show on a humorous note with a model taking to the runway in a wedding gown before four children, dressed in long bright monochrome dresses emerged from beneath her skirt.

Cuts and colors were varied throughout making for a collection that didn't always appear to be the most cohesive. It did, however, have all of the designer's signatures including corsetry, tuxedo-inspired separates, Parisian stripes and dramatic patterns, all of which will certainly appeal to the Gaultier's loyal following. Embroidery and patchwork were also prominent this season and many looks were accessorized with oversized chandelier earrings and layered necklaces.
