TOMS shoes sets up a pop-up shop at the Sole East Hamptons resort in Montauk

Pop up shops have been all the rage from New York City to London as retailers at every price point look to cut costs and create buzz. Even the Hamptons – an elite small patch of Long Island – has, this summer season, more pop up shops than one could count on two hands.

Temperley London, Hermes, La Perla, Michael Kors, Brooks Brothers, Trina Turk, Jimmy Choo, and Diane von Furstenberg are just some of the many temporary shops that have opened on the East End. One of the most exciting however, is TOMS shoes. It was just announced that TOMS – started by “chief shoe giver” Blake Mycoskie with the premise that for every shoe sold one pair will be donated to a child in need -  will open a TOMS-branded pop up store at the Sole East resort in Montauk beginning July 4th. The setup will run through September, and a weekend long 'Style your Sole' party will be held to fete the launch. Guests will be invited to design their own white pair of TOMS based on their taste.

For those not in the Hamptons, 5 in 1, which was founded as a boutique and studio design collective in 2006 by Norman Rabinovich, has just re-launched in Williamsburg. Fashion Week Daily got the scoop on the opening of the storefront which will feature eight designers who will work one weekend at a time (the boutique is only open on weekends) at the shop. The eight designers are: Helena Fredriksson of H. Fredriksson, Caroline Priebe of ULURU, Mary Meyer, Rebecka Fröberg, Costalots by Matthew Costa, Covet, ROUND Design, and jewelry line Dirty Librarian Chains.

All the designers’ offerings will be in stock at the same time and there will be some extra designer wears available on consignment from the likes of Bliss Lau and A Peace Treaty.
