Art Nouveau Revival

As part of its new exhibition, “Art Nouveau Revival“, the Musee d’Orsay in Paris – best known for having an extensive collection of priceless impressionist and post-impressionist works -- decided to do something out of the ordinary. They will be featuring a contemporary Prada perfume bottle as part of the exhibit in which pieces that represent the impact of the art and style movement (which took place between 1950 and 1970) on contemporary culture are being showcased. The influence of Art Nouveau is explored in a variety of areas including furnishings, fashion, advertising, films, and the psychedelic aesthetic.

The Art Nouveau tapestry print that Miuccia Prada featured in the 2003 Fall Winter Prada collection - an imprint that was itself a deconstruction of a classic Art Nouveau wallpaper print that later became the inspiration for the boxes Infusion de Fleur d’Oranger by Prada Parfums - will be featured at the Musee d’Orsay, as the design representation of the movement's impact on current fashion culture.

The Prada pattern is now on display alongside works by world-renowned artists including Man Ray, Salvador Dali, and Aubrey Beardsley, and they will remain at the museum through the end of February of next year.
