TREND: MODERN FLORALS

Pretty flowers get an update for Spring 2010

These are not quite the traditional flower gardens we’ve seen in past collections. These prints have been modernized with edgy, geometric edges and the hand of a skilled painter. Some look as if they were graphed on a computer without losing their natural beauty.

Other prints are so beautiful that they resemble the skill of a Vincent Van Gogh painting. The combination of these two styles ensures that these aren’t any flower prints you have seen in past spring collections.

A gorgeous Dennis Basso gown in layers of watercolor would make the perfect dress for a 50’s party in the Hamptons.

Derek Lam shows off a bright mini with geometric flowers for an edgy spring look.

A mix of colors and floral patterns is an updated look from Thakoon.

BCBG adds a splash of floral print to a tight black dress.

A very skilled painter got his hands on this Vera Wang dress, printed in a lovely lavender flower design.

Flowers for Spring? How original (sarcasm implied). Yet, this time around, originality is actually apparent.
