For Vanity Fair and Cavalli...

Hollywood is such a funny place. I just finished reading a whole stack of weeklies, each of which had some form of an article on how hot Jennifer Aniston has been looking lately, and painting a loving portrait of her in contrast to that of Angelina Jolie. Now comes word that Jolie will be getting a cover of her own (for a change). The actress just shot some photos for Vanity Fair, which should result in a cover that is slated to make it to newsstands just in time for the August 2010 mags - enough time for the weeklies to come up with something negative to say about Aniston, I suppose….

Coming to your magazine a bit sooner will be George Clooney’s current girlfriend, model and actress Elisabetta Canalis, as she has been picked to star in the Roberto Cavalli Spring/Summer 2010 underwear campaign. Shot in London by photography powerhouse Mert Alas and Marcus, Piggott Cavalli told Vogue’s online site that the stunner has always worn his creations, adding that “her feminine and Mediterranean beauty naturally leads her towards being my vision of a woman. I discovered that she is a perfect model, and she was very confident in front of the camera - that was really a surprise for me as I have always met Elisabetta in informal situations, but I was aware of the final result!”

What is the model wearing in the shoot? You can count on seeing no shortage of leopard, of course. I have to say that Canalis does fit the mold of a Cavalli model well, but I am nonetheless consistently shoked at how much a celebrity's girlfriend or boyfriend can benefit in their career just by association...Jesus Luz, anyone?
