MILK keeps the allure of NYFW in tact...

With the likes of the Kardashian sisters and QVC staging runway shows at the Bryant Park Fashion Week tents this season, there’s no way around the fact that the high-end, exclusive allure of the venue has somewhat been diminished. Little surprise, then, that MAC Cosmetics & Milk Studios are slated to have an even more successful season this time around. The younger, hipper venue is slated to host 32 runway shows and presentation at the Meatpacking District venue (a hearty increase from the 25 that took place last season in the space’s first iteration), and among those that are new to the space this year are Jeremy Scott (who has typically shown in Paris or London), McQ by Alexander McQueen, Patrik Ervell, Richard Chai Men’s Wear, Suno, and Paris68 from Johan Lindeberg.

As if McQueen and Jeremy Scott weren’t enough to provide the space with its cool factor, Surf Lodge – the popular Montauk bar, restaurant and hotel from the folks behind Cain and GoldBar in NYC – are setting up a limited time only outpost of their eatery, manned by former Top Chef contestant Sam Talbot, on the eighth floor of the MPD space. The pop-up restaurant (which we think beats Bryant Park’s McDonald’s and Lu hands down), will feature new dishes that haven’t yet hit the Montauk menu. There is no guest list for the eatery, but as one might expect (especially if you’ve been to Surf Lodge), seating will be extremely limited, and will be reserved exclusively for those invited to at least one show at MAC & Milk.

With less than 40 people expected to be able to dine at once better work on making friends with some key people now if you’re looking to get in on the action…

A tangerine striped top not only incorporates the season's hottest color, but the tie-front silhouette works perfectly with maxi skirts and high waist pants.
