2010 Tony Awards Fashion Recap

The one major difference that set this year apart from years past? Three of the biggest awards of the night went not to theater stars, but to movie stars.

Scarlett Johansson picked up the award for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Play in a glittering black Fall 2010 Elie Saab gown.

Denzel Washington walked away with the Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play trophy.

Catherine Zeta-Jones took home the Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical award, in a baby blue strapless Atelier Versace gown.

The other big news of the night was hair. Katie Holmes, in a grey bustier Armani chiffon gown, looked better than ever with longer hair, while Cate Blanchett  showed off her newly chopped mane.

Fittingly, the actress paired her cropped do with a menswear-inspired look from the Spring 2010 Armani Prive collection. While I’m not a fan of the metallic silver organza suit, Blanchett manages to pull off the look with her thoughtful gaze and pale complexion.
