Look of the Moment: Neutral Dots

Polka dots are known to be feminine, most often dabbled onto frilly sundresses and elegant blouses. But polka dots don’t have to just be girlish and cute, they can also be extremely comfortable, laid back, and even chic!

This girl, snapped by Stockholm Streetstyle, knows exactly what we’re talking about when it comes to showcasing the polka dot’s more casual side. She makes her knitted polka-dot sweater totally weekend-ready by wearing it in a simple neutral beige and pairing it with basic denim skinny jeans. She lazily tucks her sweater into the front of her jeans and throws a sandy-toned leather jacket over her shoulders for an effortless, nonchalant look.

With rugged suede booties on her feet, a braided leather belt around her waist, and her hair in an elegantly messy updo, she can easily be mistaken for a mystical wood nymph. Minnie Mouse would be surprised to see her favorite print worn in such a different, toned-down sort of way – but that’s because today’s girls aren’t as prim and proper as they used to be.

A little fuss and rough-around-the-edges style always does an outfit good, and this definitely goes for polka dots. Who knew they could be so versatile?

Go find yourself some polka dots in a minimalistic neutral and be on your merry way this season with a new, fresh look.
