I’m not knocking them. In fact, I love and own quite a few pairs of UGGs, and I often wear my “Ughs” in blisteringly cold New York City weather. Unfortunately, despite their increasing price tags and their designer collaborations with, amongst others, Jimmy Choo, UGGs aren’t the sturdiest shoes and the brand’s attempts to venture beyond their classic models have fallen flat. But UGG sales continue to grow, and every holiday season, long lines of shoppers form outside UGG boutiques. Even Hollywood’s most fashionable stars can’t get enough of the ultra-comfy footwear!
For those that can’t bear waiting in the cold only to find that their size has run out once they finally make it inside the store, or for those that cringe when looking at the studded, colorful creations UGG deems “fashion-forward”, and for those who, for whatever reason, simply refuse to be caught in a pair of the sheepskin foot-warmers, here are 10 UGG alternatives (some of which are on sale!).
