Color Rules Street Style at Milan Fashion Week Fall 2011

Bright colors dominated street style at Milan Fashion Week. There was no shade left unworn! Bold hues paired with playful prints and tights in every color made a splash. On the left, an all navy outfit lets the details, a floral scarf and soft pink glasses, pop! On the right, coral and purple isn’t a color combination seen too often, but on this sleek show attendee, it works. The clean lines are the secret to making the look work.

The brighter, the better seemed to be Anna Dello Russo‘s motto at Milan Fashion Week. On the left, a neon yellow dress paired with a patterned cropped jacket. On the right, you can’t help but stare at these layered fluorescents. Nothing says “fashion is meant to be fun” like neon!

While every color of the rainbow may have been represented, neutrals still had their moment in the sun. On the left, Taylor Tomasi Hill keeps it simple in grey and black…but her signature royal blue clutch adds a playful tone to the entire ensemble. On the right, a nude blouse with a bow detail is all buttoned up while still looking ultra-feminine. Very secretary chic!

It simply wouldn’t be fashion week if the industry’s unofficial uniform (all black) wasn’t represented. On the left, a little leg goes a long way in these lace-patterned tights. On the right, Kate Lanphear‘s shoulder pads put a futuristic spin on a regal military coat.
