Holmes & Yang for Valextra

Designer/celebrity collaborations are an ever increasing trend, and the latest star to throw her hat into the ring is Katie Holmes. Along with her personal stylist, Jeanette Yang, her label Holmes & Yang launched in 2009. Still relatively under the radar, there has been little press regarding Katie’s influence, and hardly any editorial coverage. It’s a label that seems to fit in the niche of comfortable, elegant, wearable clothes.

The focus of the label lies on quality craftsmanship and tailoring, aimed at highlighting a woman’s best assets while allowing her to live her life, whether she’s a working mom or a lady who lunches. Luxe fabrics like butter-soft leather and cashmere are key players in the line, ensuring that comfort is of high importance. Accessories are a natural progression for the label, and that’s exactly where Holmes & Yang’s latest foray into collaborations comes into play.

Last week, the Valextra for Holmes & Yang shoulder bag made its debut during a trunk show at Barneys New York. Streamlined and durable, it comes in a sturdy size and is available in two color combinations. It is the first time the luxury goods house Valextra has collaborated with anyone, choosing Holmes & Yang because they share similar values: simplicity, quality, and attention to detail.

The shoulder bag is available in white and navy, or white and black, and will be on shelves in July for a tidy sum of $3,950. We know what Miss Holmes will be toting Suri’s toys around in.
