Lacoste + Malandrino Spring 2011 Collaboration

With the Lacoste + Malandrino line, Catherine Malandrino is doing what Sophia Kokosalaki has done over at Diesel, giving the brand’s loyal shoppers something brand-appropriate, but fresh to love, while attracting the attention of new consumers who might not otherwise have had the brand on their radar. Malandrino's aesthetic has always been about a seemingly effortless feminine sophistication which fits well with a preppy sportswear brand like Lacoste.

The 12-piece spring Lacoste + Malandrino collection hits stores in mid-April and will mark the first of four that Malandrino will design for her fellow French label.

Among the stand-out pieces in the collection are white harem pants, mixed texture knit dresses, flirty pleated skirts, and an adorable white sweater that says “the crocodile loves you” in black lettering (reminiscent of the tops Malandrino did with Mary J. Blige). Also of note are that the Lacoste + Malandrino pieces have two kissing crocodiles, one yellow and the other green, instead of the traditional crocodile logo – adorable!

According to WWD the 12-piece spring line wholesales from $145 to $750 and the 12-piece fall line will run from $165 to $750, so expect prices in the higher range of the contemporary market. Here's to hoping shoes and other accessories will follow.
