We thought the worst thing about bikini season was cellulite, but it turns out swimwear can be quite controversial. In fact, after Australian swimwear brand Lisa Blue showed a one-piece with an image of the Hindu goddess Lakshmi on the runway, there has been some serious backlash from right wing Hindu organization Shiv Sena and the Hindu-nationalist Bharatiya Janata political party aimed at Australia (flags have even been burned). While Lisa Blue has already said they will not produce the swimsuit in question, the controversy is worth bearing in mind when packing for the beach. This Memorial Day Weekend, rely on cut, color, and print to make your beach look a memorable statement — the good kind of memorable!
