Get the Look: Celeb-Inspired Spring Blazers

Sometimes it’s the little touches that take your outfit from average to enviable. Celebrities have stylists to calculate all the complicated nuances of putting together a look, but we aren’t all so fortunate. Luckily, tFS has put together some celeb-inspired styling tips and tricks to help you give your look that extra oomph! This week, stars show you how work this spring’s sophisticated trend, the creamy blazer.

Tip #1: Lighten Up in Crisp White

Iman and Petra Nemcova coordinated their outfits for the Design on a Dime event at the Metropolitan Pavilion in NYC—both wore crisp white blazers, putting a ladylike spin on the celeb menswear trend. While Nemcova shone in an all-white pantsuit, Iman paired her open white blazer with unexpected black leather pants for an edgier look. Whether going for head-to-toe white or turning up the heat with leather, the white blazer is an easy way to complete a sophisticated and eye-catching look.

Tip #2: Soften an LBD with a Blush-Toned Blazer

Finding the right cover-up for an LBD can be tricky, but at the Brooklyn Artists Ball, Liv Tyler chose a pale peach blazer by Stella McCartney to pair with her black minidress and Roger Vivier sandals. The creamy pastel of the blazer takes the LBD into spring in a feminine and elegant way.

Tip #3: Get it Together with a Tailored Shorts Suit

When asked about her favorite summer party wear, British rising pop star Sunday Girl (a.k.a. Jade Williams) said, “Big, burnt orange flares, a sleeveless white shirt and a big floppy hat – very 70s. Or I’ll go for a nice tailored shorts suit.” She rocked the latter in light blue at the Esquire June Issue launch party. Her ankle socks with sandals gave the suit a summery schoolgirl vibe and the rope belt added a playful touch to the otherwise demure outfit. Look for a two-piece shorts suit or pair blazer and short separates in complementary pastels.
