Fall 2011 Trend: Dots and Dainty Prints

Miu Miu; Louis Vuitton

We all love a classic black look to some extent, but sometimes we need to have fun with fashion. What we wear has a tremendous impact on our mood and there’s nothing like getting over the drowsy feeling that comes with bad weather by reaching for some Fall 2011 runway-inspired dots and dainty prints.

Alexander McQueen; Topshop Unique

Though at first glance this strikes as a niche trend, it’s actually quite versatile. Take a nod from McQueen and go for subtle dots if you’re feeling less dramatic or go for full-on dalmatian spots, Topshop Unique-style, if it’s a high-impact look that you’re craving. Similarly, when it comes to dainty prints you can opt for them via an all-over printed dress or a head-to-toe look, or choose to pick a garment with dainty print accents like the above look from Miu Miu’s Fall 2011 collection.

Givenchy; Paul Smith

The best thing about this trend, however, is that it’s open to experimentation. Go for big, medium, or small dots; go for blown-up or diminutive dainty prints; go for dots on dots or dots on prints or prints on solids…the combinations are endless. Here are some Fall 2011-inspired pieces that fall in line with this trend, all of which you can get now.
