Forum Street Style: The Might of Black and White

Sometimes the world is so saturated with color that it’s easy to forget that we can retreat to the tranquility of black and white. Black and white, separate or in combination, is always in style, always looks good and can work in so many different ways. This week Fashion Spot forum members showed a myriad of variations on the black and white theme.

Primad put together an enviable black and white look by layering an Alexander Wang jumper from his Spring 2008 collection over a striped Comme des Garcons dress. Her silver ankle boots are from Balenciaga’s Fall 2009 collection.

Bloo90fashion stepped out in a little black dress from Zara. She kept the black styling going with Jessica Buurman pumps, a ring from Romwe and a bag from Monashe.

COTTDS kept her look casual in distressed jeans, a top and bag from Zara, an IKKS scarf and Givenchy ankle boots.

Amour_amour363 loves herself some black. This week she wore a Haider Ackermann dress with a Helmut Lang fur and leather jacket, black tights and Ann Demeulemeester sandals.

Liina donned Anna Sui shorts with a striped BikBok sweater. She accessorized with an Alexander Wang envelope clutch and Topshop moccasins.

Leeyone layered a black midi-length dress (that she belted with a Promod lace scarf) over a longer white vintage Italian lace dress. She covered up with a thrifted brown cardigan and topped off the look with a hat from H&M.

COTTDS, Vicky Violet, toothfairy

COTTDS wore a Romwe dress over Goosecraft leather pants with D-Co Copenhagen studded boots.

Vicky Violet called herself a “one store offender” for wearing an outfit that consisted of a coat, top, pants and shoes from All Saints.

Featuring toothfairy’s outfit may sort of be cheating since her Zara pants are technically maroon and not black, but the look conveys the same sort of vibe. She topped the pants with an Acne blouse and finished the look with a Balenciaga city bag, Isabel Marant Dicker boots and foldable Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses.
