J Brand Launches RTW for Spring 2012

Following in the steps of Rock & Republic and Seven for All Mankind, J Brand has launched ready to wear for Spring 2012. After all, one can only have so many pairs of jeans, right? The launch of the collection comes following the news that the brand once again teamed with Christopher Kane for some limited edition styles, two of which were shown in the designer’s Fall 2012 London show a few days ago (an oversized exaggerated palazzo pant with leather tuxedo stripes in bold red, and black distressed denim). As for the ready to wear line, it was officially launched yesterday at Bergdorf Goodman with a packed event co-hosted by Stylecaster, and was developed under the creative direction of Donald Oliver.

In keeping with J Brand’s aesthetic, the collection is approachably easy to wear, and boasts a mix of leather, silk, cotton, and satins for a selection of both structured and looser pieces. Among the key pieces are the fitted leather jackets, chunky knits, loosely fitted blouses, and wide trousers. The color palette includes muted pinks, creamy neutrals, lilac, along with black and gray for a slew of everyday and day-to-night pieces. I, for one, wouldn’t mind slipping into this cozy piece.
