WEARDROBE: CLOSET OF THE WEEK – 70’s Look

This week, we feature Beth of the Vintage Society.

Her Weardrobe.com profile can be seen here.

Q: Where do you live?

A: Orange County, CA

A: Fashion Blogger/ Vintage Re-designer/ Stylist… a jack of all trades

Q: How old are you?

A: 28

A: In two words I would say Vintage Glamour. I am obsessed with a bohemian 70’s look and have starting diving into the era for more inspiration. Listening to tons of Janis Joplin and Joni Mitchell, watching movies made in the 70’s or getting peeks at TV shows from the 70’s as well. I love drama and I can’t think of anything more glamorous than billowing caftans, mounds of fur and fringe, and stacked to the sky high heels!

Q. Who are some of your favorite designers? Why?

A: Gucci, Matthew Williamson and Sonia Rykiel for their free-flowing style. Karen Walker and Luella Bartley for their character driven design. Catherine Holstein for her quirky inspirations. Vera Wang for her undeniable femininity and glamour – if I had to die in one dress it would have been her sunshine yellow vintage inspired dress worn by Michelle Williams at the Oscars the year of “Brokeback Mountain”.

A: My vintage Mongolian lamb fur vest scored at my favorite thrift store.. I will die owning that vest!

A: My fuzzy blue towel wrap with pink hearts splattered about. It is ugly.. but it does the job when I hop out of the shower.

A: I have a very small closet with three sections.. so …three separate rods, one containing dresses and skirts, two sweaters, coats and jackets, and third shirts and blouses. Each section is then organized by style (modern, classic dresses, bohemian dresses, t-shirt dresses and on it goes)

A: My dream wardrobe would contain many of the things already in my closet.. with addition of some designer vintage peices, but the biggest dream would be to have a massive closet with a full dressing area. Ahh.. someday!
