More than 10,000 designers, buyers, models, celebrities, fashion aficionados, and fashion media from around the world took part in the 11th annual Miami Fashion Week which took place from March 19th through March 22nd at the Soho Studios in Miami’s Wynwood Art District.
Miami Fashion Week featured 60 designers, including some from Dubai, Pakistan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Belgium, Spain and Italy, as well as Latin America and the Caribbean.
The opening night featured reigning Miss Universe Dayana Mendoza and reigning Miss USA Crystle Stewart, as well as a performance by Patricia Manterola. The final curtain call honored Special Guest Designer Agatha Ruiz de la Prada.
The Spanish designer also presented her vibrantly colored, whimsical collection for Fall/Winter 2009 that was dedicated to Salvador Dali and surrealism. Also on Sunday the 22nd, Miami Moda and the Music Awards fused fashion and entertainment into an awards show featuring romance radio personality Ileana Garcia. MEGA TV’s Alan Villafañe emceed the awards show.
