What’s naughty and nice? What’s bold, yet demure? What has the power to convey sex appeal as well as girlish fun? The sweetheart neckline. One of my all time favorites, and if you’ve never tried one on, it’s time. It leaves just enough to the imagination, while showing off decolletage like nothing else. Because it gives structure and shape to your chest, both the well endowed and the less so, feel empowered in it. And it’s simply darling paired with a top knot, as it also does much to show off the gentle slope of the female shoulder. But I don’t want to tease, check out some runway looks and sweethearts on the market (for under $70!) to inspire your next shopping trip!
The fit of this dress has a classic feel that makes me think of a time when men were boys and women were dolls. That old Hollywood glamour is a favorite of Zac Posen, and here he gives us a modern print to pair with the sweetheart.

Jenny Packham is glamorous and always uber femme. I could see this dress having multiple uses in a girl's wardrobe. From outdoor summer cocktail parties to an impromptu wedding dress when he asks you to elope!
Margiela is the king of modern, borderline too abstract to wear, artistry. Thankfully, this collection included a totally modern iteration of the sweetheart by giving it a deep V. And now I have something else to lust after and look for that's street-worthy.
Cropped and Crossed
Not for the faint of heart, and definitely for the fit of body, who didn't drool a little when this look came down the Balenciaga runway? Double inspo: sweetheart neckline and motivation to not skip yoga.

There's something about this top that's simply gorgeous, and we can't discount the use of the sheer trend. The solid color allows texture elements to shine without being overwhelming.

Peplums create shape, and the sweetheart neckline lends itself to the hourglass curves we love. The small print draws the eye inward, creating a slenderizing effect.
