I have to say that chambray has come to occupy a decent-sized space in my closet. It’s lightweight, so easy to wear, and the variety of blue shades available are flattering on just about every skin shade. From fitted to slouchy, from office-ready to boardwalk-only, I’m taking advantage of chambray’s moment in a big way. I’m also betting on it becoming a new seasonless classic for its layering capabilities. See what I mean with some of the pieces and runway looks below.
The lighter shades of chambray are asking to be worn with white accents. The addition of lace is, of course, brilliant and adds a feminine juxtaposition to denim's cousin.

Love the shape of these pants. Love the cuffed bottom. And while patchwork chambray may not be for everyone, it's certainly inspiration worthy. Mixing up your denim and chambray blues is a chic choice to make in the name of personal style.
There's that layering idea. This vest adds a toned-down cool factor to a mini skirt and white top, which otherwise might feel fussy.
Remember when every girl was sporting that dark navy boyfriend blazer everywhere she went? We all fell in love with the cozy way it felt and how sharp it looked. Now we're in need of a new topper staple. Let it be the chambray blazer.

Some call it a newsboy, BR calls it a "driving" cap. Whatever the term, this is such a chic way to protect your eyes and skin in the summer. Tuck your hair completely under for an androgynous way to skip out on styling for the day.

This medium blue will look divine with a bit of color on your legs. Oh, and it matches pretty much every other color on the planet from hot pink to classic heathered gray.

It's Puma, a classic, using a classic accent to make a trendy, yet iconic sneaker. If you don't own a pair of sneakers yet, I personally recommend these.

Can you see this with a ditsy print floral dress a la 1995? We can. I can also see it with a pair of chucks and punk jewelry for a modern take on summer layers and style.

Your next summer concert series is calling, and it wants you to wear this dress. The small cut-out can be worn on a variety of figures, and the fit-and-flare style is uber flattering.

This is a step above your typical chambray button-down. The jacket detailing and light color has a vintage vibe. And it's on sale, which means it's probably going in my shopping cart as soon as I submit this piece to my editor.
