Let's face it, boyfriend style has this decade by the (um) cojones. We go back to it over and over again because it's ultra comfortable, lends a city feel to our wardrobe and let's us relax into sexy attire, as opposed to pouring ourselves into yet another bodycon look. These days, one has only to search "boyfriend" on any clothing site and see an array of options. But which ones are the best? Which ones will be your go-to boyfriend classics?
We've done the window (or screen) shopping for you. This fall you're going to want to throw on these pieces with any of your skinny pants and trousers. You'll want these boyfriend jeans to pair with your day sequins. A plaid shirt is the perfect brunch option for virtually all of your solid bottoms. Add in a fedora or a baseball cap when cold or rainy weather calls for it. A men's belt is a must-have to finish off your look. (Little known fact about me: my brown AE men's belt gets more play than any of my others — it rocks anything, everything, from dresses to pants.)
For evening, why not put away that tight LB-Whatever and try to step up your dressing-up game with some boyfriend-inspired details? A white tuxedo shirt, a tux jacket tailored for ladies or a pair of tuxedo striped trousers will take you far. Use the white button-up you already have (or actually your boyfriend's) and pair it with a tie and suspenders for head-turning, daring style.
