Across the pond in Paris, London, Milan and back again, the show-going set at Fashion Week found a new way to keep warm this season by cleverly fashioning their coats into makeshift capes slung around their shoulders. Women around the globe are skipping sleeves in favor of a slung-jacket look and finding that the chicest way to wear a coat is to not. Draped over shoulders, whether it be a leather moto, knee-length wool overcoat, varsity bomber or denim jacket, this smart styling trick was first spotted on editors and stylists before the craze swept the nation. With very little effort, this coat-as-cape look elevates everyday ensembles to give your overall outfit nonchalant appeal. We’re just not sure if this shoulder draping stays put when needed, but it sure does make for a fashionable photo opp.
