My Fashion Week Signature Style: Urban Practicality

I’d define my signature style as Urban Practicality. It’s a reflection of the city in which I live – wild, glamorous, gritty, unpredictable – and the ensemble I choose each morning must carry me from day to night, business to pleasure. New Yorkers wear black for a reason – sure, it’s slimming, but it also goes with everything and hides unexpected spills and stains that may accumulate throughout the day (a very common problem of yours truly). These skinny stretch pants and perforated faux-leather jacket from INC International Concepts, only at Macy’s are one of my favorite style combos. I wear these pants everywhere: work, travel, business meetings and after hours. They’re so versatile and go with everything! The jacket is a modern twist on a classic, with unexpected details and flattering silhouette.

All that being said, fashion is about having fun (!) so a pop of color and flash of bling is never a bad thing (enter this bright red top and rhinestone bangle set). The top’s red hue pops in all the right places through the jacket’s perforated leather. I love a good set of bangles but it can be time-consuming (and expensive) shopping for the perfect combination. This set makes the selection so easy.

Fashion Week seems to be permanently cursed with bad winter weather! When you’re running from show to show in the sleet and snow, heels are NOT a good idea. And even when the weather’s nice, I’ve been known to forgo a cab in lieu of hoofing it to my destination (who has time for the gym during Fashion Week?) These Carsone Cowboy booties are the perfect comfy flat, but the metallic color keeps them interesting with a sartorial high/low thing I’m loving any day of the week. If you’re a city dweller like me and needs your outfit to keep up with your busy life, consider these pieces your new wardrobe staples.
