Katie Cassidy: 5 Ways to Instantly Update Your Spring Look

I love the changing of the seasons, mostly because it means I get to break out parts of my wardrobe that haven’t seen the light of day for months on end. My other favorite part about the changing of the seasons? Shopping. Now, I don’t believe in buying a whole new wardrobe each season, but I do believe a few new on-trend pieces can help create some new looks in an already busting-outta-the-seams closet. So, with that said, here is what I intend to indulge in this coming Spring:

A Mini Bag

Enough with diaper bag-sized purses. This season I am keeping my eyes peeled for a dainty and structured mini bag. Whether it’s a baby tote or crossbody, just pick out something cute, like this McQ Baby Suzy Bag ($495).

Statement Earrings

Its time for statement necklaces to take a bow and for big-ass earrings to rise to fame. I am so down to rock a simple tee paired with any sort of showstopping/sparkly/chunky/huge/ohmygod earrings. Love these Firecracker Drops Earrings from Baublebar ($38).

A Sick Sweatshirt

If you ever read my blog TomboyKC, you would know that luxe sweatshirts are kind of my current obsession. I dress them up with jewelry and a skirt, or down with skinnies and sneaks. They are so comfortable and stylish, what else could you ask for? A girl can never have too many. Try this Kenzo Embroidered Tiger Sweatshirt ($315).

A Bomber Jacket

Whether it's silk, denim, leather or an “other” version of a classic bomber jacket, they are so versatile and effortlessly stylish. This one from Mango ($99.99) is cute and affordable.

A Tea Length Skirt

I have my eye out for the perfect full tea length skirt. It doesn’t seem as obviously TKC, but I have this whole “Superga, tea length skirt and T-shirt” look in my head that is just begging to be experimented with. The ASOS Full Midi Skirt in Scuba ($65.87) is super-cute.
