What do designers Alexander McQueen, Tory Burch, Valentino and Givenchy have in common, aside from being fashion institutions? They all embraced tribal, world-traveler chic in their Spring 2014 collections, giving us a variety of aesthetic sensibilities to inspire. But we can't help feeling as if these fanciful pieces are meant only for the runway (we just can't see ourselves in a floor-length caftan/housecoat at the next Monday morning sales meeting).
Thankfully, we don't give up so easily on our spring wardrobe dreams. There are a ton of options for you to pick from that allow you to grab some of that high-end appeal while still keeping your look real world, street style worthy. For example, a simple slim maxi skirt paired with a geo-patterned crop top and mint-hued cross body bag. Or a pair of breezy wide-leg trousers with a tribal print, toned down with a structured cream shell that you can actually wear to the office. You can also pair a perfect tribal mini with a simple black tank for an amazing night out look. Block heels will save your feet and can add an extra pop of color, too.
