American Icon: Ashley Olsen (Feminine Chic)

My signature style is what I would define as Feminine Chic. And when I think about American icons who embody a similar fashion sense, I envision someone who is independent and sophisticated, classic yet edgy, a girl who knows what she wants and where she is going. Ashley Olsen is my Amreican icon, not only for her style, but her incredible entrepreneurial drive.

Growing up in the public eye, Ashley Olsen has been working with twin sister, Mary-Kate, since she was 9 months old. Starting out as a child actor and evolving into a successful businesswoman, designer and author, Ashley has reached icon status at the young age of 27. Over the years, she has not only pushed the limits for herself and her career, but in her style as well. Whether jumping on a plane to Paris, attending Fashion Week, walking the red carpet at the Met Gala, or just simply running around NYC, Ashley always has a defined style that has an element of classic and feminine, combined with a bit of edge. I am inspired by her ease to make even the simplest outfit chic.

My INC International Concepts, only at Macy’s signature look is inspired by that simplicity of classic and feminine pieces, a combination Ashley has mastered. I started with the Long Sleeved Star Sweater because it is a great lightweight knit, especially with the weather warming up. I paired it with the Cuffed Cargo Short, because a classic white short is a must have for summer! For daytime, I followed Ashley’s preference for minimal jewelry with a few of the Gold Plated Pave Bangles and finished the look with the Marge Wedge Sandal. This is the perfect outfit for brunch with girlfriends or some afternoon shopping.

For evening, a heel is a must and I am in love with the Sadye Platform Wedge. It is classic, yet sexy and perfect to pair with shorts. Because of the detailing on the sweater, I decided to skip a necklace or earrings and layer on more bracelets for a little extra glam. Here, the Pave Rhinestone Bangles are the perfect addition.
