Pre-Fall may be an opening act to the main show, but don’t let that fool you. The smaller, interseasonal collection has one of the longest shelf lives on the sales floor, hitting retailers in May and June with full-price merchandise just when summer sales start. All around, it’s a commercial win for consumers and designers alike. “It has become the season you sell the most clothes,” Michael Kors told Vogue in 2010. “And they’re clothes that can be whatever season you want them to be. Often it just depends on what’s on your feet.”
