8 Microtrends That Need to Go Mainstream

One is an example, two is a fluke and three’s a trend. That’s the unassailable rule of fashion and we’re sticking to it. For Fall 2015 fashion, we spotted a number of trends that fit the bill, but didn’t quite make it into the big leagues. We like to call these microtrends, otherwise known as “fringe” trends. Typically, they cater to a smaller audience for a variety of reasons. They may be hard to wear (oversized pockets), expensive (fur stoles) or slightly too far outside what’s commonly accepted as “normal” for the average citizen (facial jewelry). But we’d like to plead their case anyway. Because what’s fashion without a little frivolity?
