“The line was inspired by the modern woman and her multifaceted needs and wants. We think a lot about who she is in the daytime and what styles she's wearing. Recently, we feel she is wearing a lot of basics and neutrals, but pieces that have subtle specialness and attention to detail. We combine that awareness with how the clothes need to function; things like temperature awareness, tops that don't twist, waistbands that won't ride up, pockets, etc.,” explains Lunya founder and CEO Ashley Merrill.
Siro Bralette, $50 at Lunya
“We are obsessed with our fabrics and trims. They need to be everything in one — buttery soft, made from natural fibers (as much as possible) and best-in-class quality that will last. We recognize that our woman has different temperature needs and we want to give some options. We are also pioneering new functional fabrics that should help keep you cool or increase circulation.”
Modal Sleep Dress, $140 at Lunya
“We are inspired by the problem that athletic wear is solving more than the fashion of athletic wear. Sleepwear and athletic wear have similar objectives in that both have to serve a function as well as be stylish. We take our functional design seriously, which makes us very unique in our segment.”

Historically, sleepwear was something so old and ugly that you wouldn't wear it out of the house — we are unquestionably breaking down those barriers. We design clothes that are stylish and exceedingly comfortable, so generally women who love Lunya feel no need to change for brunch, errands or to drop their kids off at school.”

“You spend one-third of your life asleep and a hell of a lot more time lounging around. You wear these clothes in front of the most important people in your life. Flannel Plaid Tank, $60 at Lunya
We spend so much time obsessing over sleep. Are we getting enough? How can we get more? How can we improve the quality? But we don’t spend much time contemplating how the clothes we wear affect the quality of our sleep. If Lunya founder and CEO Ashley Merrill has anything to say about it, that’s all about to change.
Inspired by the performance-enhancing qualities of activewear, Merrill has launched a new kind of sleepwear. Like fitness apparel that is designed to go from the gym to the bar, Lunya is designed to go beyond the bedroom. Aesthetics aside, what sets the brand apart is the use of breathable fabrics that help regulate your temperature while you slumber, no-friction flat seams to eliminate chafing, straps that won’t fall off your shoulders and bottoms that won’t ride up.
