H&M Just Launched a Sustainable Unisex Denim Line, Here’s What We’re Buying

Today, everyone’s favorite Swedish retail giant dropped its latest collection, a line of unisex denim aptly named “Denim United.” In keeping with H&M’s shift toward sustainability, the entire collection is made using organic and recycled cotton and other eco-friendly materials.

The word “unisex” is often taken to mean “boxy” or “menswear-inspired.” Denim United is anything but. In fact, it’s loaded with cool-kid staples. The 19-piece capsule features the sort of thigh-grazing jackets you’d expect to find in Rihanna’s or Bella Hadid’s closet, alongside retro straight leg jeans Seinfeld himself would wear with pride. Then there are some more skate-inspired wares, including a pair of knee-length denim shorts (a cut we fully expect to see everywhere this summer).

The pieces aren’t intended for, or marketed to, any specific gender. “It is very natural for us to launch a unisex collection as fashion is constantly evolving and intersecting and today we see there are no boundaries in democratic style. Fashion should always be inclusive,” stated H&M spokesperson Marybeth Schmitt in a press release.

Truer words were never spoken. Click through the gallery below for our favorite pieces from the collection, available exclusively on hm.com. (Side note: We would’ve included the pinstripe jeans shown above, but they have yet to appear on H&M’s site.)
