Granny-Style Crochet Stitching Gets a Seriously Chic Upgrade

Spearheaded by retailers like Carbon38, we’re now at a point in fashion where athleisure is dictating fashion trends. Not only are high-end fitness brands making clothing that increasingly looks like ready-to-wear (even shoes!), but people are actually wearing them to work, to the bar and beyond. The latest trend to hit active fashion and beyond is crochet stitching. While designers like Missoni and Sonia Rykiel have been using crochet for years, the style has long been associated with granny fashion (there’s even something called a granny square).
