TREND: THE GREAT OUTDOORS

I love the city, but sometimes a girl just has to get back to nature. When the leaves turn from green to gold, the change in weather forces you to add a few layers.  What better way to enjoy the cold than to throw on a sporty coat, take a train to the mountains, and enjoy a weekend getaway in front of a cozy fire? Curling up with a hot chocolate after a day of skiing or going on an afternoon hike sounds like a dream, and designers clearly have the country on their minds for their Fall 2010 collections.

Water repellent vests with faux fur trims are great for a bike ride, while ski jackets in wool may be more for show than actual skiing, but the looks are all making a country statement. It’s time to get outside and enjoy the outdoors, and there are plenty of fashionable options.

A girl can still dress up in the country, and Michael Kors has just the right ensemble with this low cut sweater blouse, khaki, button up circle skirt, suede boots, and fur clutch.

A sporty jumpsuit and oversized raincoat will keep you dry in unpredictable weather, designed by Vena Cava.

Layers of wool in plaid, and a windowpane and accessory fashion tool belt keep this girl warm in Rag & Bone.

A sporty jacket, fingerless gloves, and stretchy column skirt by Richard Chai brings city chic to the great outdoors.

Let’s get sporty for Fall 2010 and take fashion outside next season. A weekend in the country can do a city girl some good!
