What We Bought: Alexander McQueen Skull Scarf, YSL Earrings and More (Forum Shopaholics)

I think we all know how difficult it is to refrain from indulging in some new additions to our wardrobes while scouring stores and website for gifts for others. I freely confess to being a “one for you, five for me” type of shopper during the holiday season. When the deals are so good and the stuff you bring home is obsession-worthy, then resistance just doesn’t make sense. That’s what I tell myself anyway, and judging from other forum members’ purchases I’m not alone. Here is a selection of some of their most recent acquisitions.

Legyviel “caved in” and ordered these brown Topshop boots with a glittery gold heel after she discovered they were sold out in the store.

RedandNavy has been a responsible shopper, but she explained, “When these YSL earrings arrived at Net-a-Porter my heart fell in love and couldn’t resist buying them. Now they’ve arrived at my home and are super pretty and dreamy!” She was meant to own them, obviously.

Emma peel cringed and explained that she “can’t stop” when it comes to buying things in the sales. One of her recent purchases is this Alexander Wang turtleneck sweater.

This Rodarte for Opening Ceremony cardigan went on sale and is now proudly owned by hautechild.

Are the Alexander McQueen skull scarves poised for a resurgence in popularity? I know it’s a classic, but I bought one in the black and ivory color scheme on Black Friday, and this week, Kite shared that he bought the deep purple version at a sample sale in the UK.

Zarina has been on the hunt for all things sparkly lately. She added this pair of Dorothy-esque glittery red Ted Baker heels to her extensive shoe collection.

Luckyme was “stoked” to find this Junya Watanabe jacket on sale at Barneys.

A la Balenciaga did some shopping for her man (and for herself) at Zara. “I got him this coat, it’s absolutely beautiful. The quality is very rich,” she wrote. Consider this a recommendation for ladies who want their boyfriends to be sharply dressed.

For herself, á la Balenciaga picked up a long, sheer and opaque black Zara dress with an asymmetrical hem. “It’s awesome because I can wear it all year long, summer night or fall with a nice coat,” she explained. She also bought a Zara mini skirt overlaid with sheer maxi panels.
