STYLE SNAPSHOT: MARIE-AMELIE SAUVE
A coveted stylist with a unique aesthetic

Although she started as a lowly fashion intern, today Marie-Amélie Sauvé is one of the most respected and coveted stylists/consultants on the international fashion scene.
 To the fashion community, Sauvé is best known for her work at Vogue Paris and her close relationship with Balenciaga designer Nicolas Ghesquière. She is also a frequent contributor to publications such as Vogue Nippon, Vogue Italia, Vanity Fair, Another Magazine, and the New York Times.
 At the beginning of 2001, Sauvé began her professional relationship with Carine Roitfeld of Vogue Paris, and her signature style has since been embedded into the fabric of renowned magazine. She describes her aesthetic as "abstract sexy". To a keen eye, her styling is instantly recognizable.
 She frequently uses one item, usually an accessory, in each frame to tie together an editorial narrative. For Sauvé, the specificity of a single item "adds a twist to the story and gives a strong, concise message."
In the mid-1990s, Lionel Vermeil introduced Sauvé to Nicolas Ghesquière, and pair have been close in a personal and professional capacity ever since. Their relationship includes full studio meetings at Balenciaga, weekly Stairmaster workouts at the Ritz health club, and brunches.
 Sauvé was the driving force behind the GAP European collection, credited with landing model Coco Rocha and Chanel muse Amanda Harlech for the ad campaign. She also styled the iconic Pirelli Calendar in 2008, and has signed on as a contributor for Interview magazine.
 Sauvé prefers Route du Thé Barneys perfume, almost always wears Balenciaga, and adores American Vogue. "I read all the stories; I love the fitness, and society articles. It's the only magazine where I read the stories and look at the fashion."
