ALISA GOULD-SIMON FROM BLACKBOOKMAG'S FASHIONEER: BLOGGER STYLE

Name: Alisa Gould-Simon A: I first started blogging for BlackBook 2 years ago. The focus then was on maintaining a fun, entertaining, and freely critical take on fashion. That still remains today. Fashioneer's focus on any given day can range from trends and profiles of eccentric figures within the industry, to a critique of a new web or retail endeavor. A: Ideally, I try to make my individual blog posts accessible to readers, whether their knowledge of fashion is minimal, or whether they are coming from a more 'insider' perspective. My vision for the blog as a whole is for it to offer something unique, and for it to house well-researched, substantive stories. A: My Google RSS reader is my lifeblood. I scroll through thousands of headlines on any given day. Women's Wear Daily is a must. My go-to blogs are Jezebel, The Cut, Fashionologie, and Selectism among many, many others. I also love Facehunter, Hanneli, and Turnedout.tv for street style inspiration. A: My personal style is pretty adaptive. That said, I definitely lean towards French coquettish - anything Anna Karina would have worn in the 60's is okay by me - when I'm not trying to recreate Diane Keaton circa "Annie Hall." A: Dries Van Noten, the late Alexander McQueen, Phoebe Philo, Joseph Altuzarra, and Olivier Theyskens when he's working. A: My iPod, which in a pinch recently I realized doubles as a tape recorder just fine thanks to the Voice Memos application (just be sure to hold it upside down as the mic is on the bottom). A: I'd love to become more involved in trend forecasting and brand consulting in addition to writing. I'd also like to work on and potentially launch projects that chart new terrain with regard to where style coverage and the rapidly evolving digital realm converge.
